Google Inc. on yhdysvaltalainen, Internet-palveluita tarjoava
yhtiö, joka on kehittänyt maailman suosituimman ja tunnetuimman
hakukoneen, Googlen. Yhtiön perustivat Larry Page ja Sergey Brin
syyskuussa vuonna 1998. Yhtiö listautui pörssiin elokuussa 2004.

Elokuussa 2005 Googlen haku kattoi noin 8,2 miljardia WWW-sivua,
2,2 miljardia kuvaa ja miljardi uutisryhmäviestiä.lähde? Tämän
lisäksi Google tarjoaa useimmista kohteistaan tekstiosuuden
taltioivan välimuistitallenteen.

Google ylläpitää hakukonepalvelun lisäksi mm. Gmail-sähköpostia,
virtuaaliyhteisöä Orkut, Picasa-albumiohjelmaa sekä kartta- ja
paikannuspalveluja Google Maps ja Google Earth. Google Moon
näyttää kuvia Kuusta. Vastaavasti Google Mars näyttää kuvia
Marsista. Uusin aluevaltaus, Google Talk, on
pikaviestintäpalvelu. Tulonsa Google saa ylläpitämistään
mainostusohjelmista, AdWords ja AdSense.
